Renault Spider parking aid failure
Summary of the thread
A 1998 Renault Spider owner experienced a complete failure of the parking aid system, with an error appearing in the memory. The issue was identified as potentially being caused by faulty cable and plug connections near the rear bumper. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty connection, which was then repaired.

Where exactly are those connections located? And how difficult is it to check them myself?

They are located near the rear bumper, behind the trim. While you could inspect them yourself, I would recommend taking it to a workshop. It could also be the sensors themselves. Expect a bill of around 95€.

Thanks for the info! I'll take it to a shop. They confirmed it was indeed a faulty connection and fixed it for that price. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my Spider. The parking assist went completely dead. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the parking aid component? That's a common failure point.
