Renault Wind brake lights dead error message

I don't have cruise control on this car. The brake pedal feels fine, no different than before. So you think it's definitely the brake switch and not something more serious with the whole brake system?

Probably just the switch. Think of it like a light switch in your house - sometimes they just go bad from use, especially if you drive in a city where you're using the brakes all the time. But I'd still get it checked out, brakes are pretty important for obvious reasons.

Turns out, I was resting my foot very lightly on the brake pedal. I've stopped doing that, and the error hasn't reappeared. No cost to repair. Thanks for the pointer!

Sounds like a faulty brake switch, could be related. It's a common issue, but do you have cruise control? If so, does that still work? If it's not the switch, might be a wiring fault. If you press the pedal does it still feel normal?
