Renault Wind Bypass Valve Error
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Renault Wind owner experienced an error code related to the bypass valve and engine overheating. Despite checking coolant levels, the issue persisted. A suggestion was made that the error might be a secondary issue, possibly caused by a vacuum leak. Upon professional inspection, a coolant leak was identified as the root cause, and fixing it resolved the bypass valve error.

Vacuum leak, huh? Interesting. Where should I be looking specifically? Are there any common spots on the Wind where those hoses tend to crack or come loose? Also, what do you mean by 'consequential error'?

Yeah, vacuum leaks can be tricky. By consequential error, I mean the bypass valve error might not be the root cause, but rather a symptom of something else messing with the system. As for specific spots on the Wind, I can't really remember the details. If I were you, I would go to a workshop to get it checked by a professional.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out, you were right about it being a secondary issue. Took it to the workshop, and they found a coolant leak that was causing the bypass valve to throw an error. Fixed the leak, and the bypass valve error is gone now. The best thing is that the repair was covered by the warranty, so the repair cost was 0€!

I had a similar issue with my Wind. A bypass valve is part of the exhaust system, controlling the flow of exhaust gases. The error message is probably a consequential error, meaning that it's being triggered by something else going wrong. In my case, it was a vacuum leak. Did you check the hoses?
