Renault Wind cruise control error

Alright, roadster enthusiasts, need some brainpower! My 2012 Renault Wind, gasoline engine, just hit 101185 km and the cruise control decided to take an early retirement. Speedometer throws an error, cruise is completely dead, and the error memory is holding onto the grudge. I've wiggled wires, checked fuses... feels like chasing a ghost in the machine! Anyone else seen this fiery gremlin?

I had something similar happen with my Wind. Same symptoms. Did you check the connections around the steering wheel and the actuator? It might be as simple as a loose or corroded plug.

Thanks for the quick reply! Steering wheel and actuator connections... good call. Specifically, which connectors gave you grief? Any chance you remember the location or color coding? I feel like I'm dismantling the entire car!

It was a while ago, so I don't recall the exact connector. If the problem persists, I would recommend that you visit a workshop and have the error memory read out. The mechanic should be able to locate the faulty component fairly quickly. The whole thing shouldn't be too expensive.

Appreciate the tip about the connectors and the workshop! Took it in, and you nailed it – a dodgy connector near the steering wheel. New connector, error gone, cruise control's back in action. Cost me 95€ all in. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
