Thanks! Helpful to know about your Astra. When you say 'directly into the steering column adjustment motor,' do you mean inside the steering column shroud, or further up towards the dashboard? Trying to figure out where to look without taking apart the whole interior!

Okay, if I remember right, on the Astra, it was inside the steering column shroud, but a bit tricky to reach. Might be best to check with a workshop; could be a defective motor too. The repair, including error diagnosis, cost me 95€.

Thanks so much! I'll check inside the shroud again, and if I can't find anything, I'll take it to a workshop. At least I have an idea of potential costs, thanks to your experience. Appreciate the help!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Electric steering failed, and it was a faulty connection in the steering column. Did you check the plugs that go directly into the steering column adjustment motor? They can get loose or corroded.
