Renault Wind hissing sound fuel consumption

I'm having a weird issue with my 2013 Renault Wind (gasoline engine). It’s got 122074 km on the clock and recently the check engine light has come on. I've also noticed my fuel consumption has gone up quite a bit. When I accelerate, there's a noticeable loud hissing sound. I'm suspecting an air intake leak, maybe a cracked hose? Anyone experienced anything similar? Could it be related to the air filter or maybe even a turbocharger issue causing an engine misfire?

Hissing and increased fuel consumption on a Wind... sounds familiar. I have a Wind too, though I can’t recall the year. Have you checked the intake hose? That's the first place to look. It's a common failure point. Could be as simple as a split hose, causing the air intake system leak.

Thanks! Which intake hose are you referring to specifically? Is it the one right after the air filter box, or further down towards the engine? Also, did your check engine light come on too when you had the issue?

Yep, the check engine light illuminated on my dash as well. It was the hose coming from the air filter housing. Honestly, if you're not mechanically inclined, I'd suggest getting it checked by a workshop to pinpoint the exact location of the air intake leak.

Appreciate the input! Based on your experience, I took it to a mechanic who confirmed it was indeed a leaking intake hose. They replaced it, and the total repair cost was around 100€. The hissing is gone, fuel consumption is back to normal, and the check engine light is off. Thanks again for the advice!
