Renault Wind temperature sensor and AC issues

Engine temp seems normal on the gauge, no weird noises either. I'm thinking it's electrical because the AC just refuses to start. Could it really be just one sensor causing all this mayhem?

It's plausible that a single malfunctioning temperature sensor could trigger the cascade of effects you're experiencing. Modern vehicles often rely on sensor data to govern multiple functions, and a critical error can indeed disable systems like the air conditioning as a preventative measure. However, without thorough diagnostics, pinpointing the root cause with certainty remains challenging. Have you considered consulting a qualified technician for a comprehensive diagnostic assessment? The climate control module may also be at fault.

You nailed it! Took it to the workshop and it was indeed the temperature sensor AND the AC control unit. Cost me 980€ for everything, but at least it's fixed. Thanks for the help!

Greetings. The symptoms you've described certainly suggest a potential malfunction within the thermal management system of your Renault Wind. Given the interconnected nature of modern automotive systems, a faulty temperature sensor related to the heat exchanger can indeed cascade into multiple issues, including the air conditioning system's operational status and error messages displayed on the speedometer. Have you observed any fluctuations in the engine temperature gauge, or any unusual noises emanating from the engine compartment?
