Renault Wind transmission oil pressure fault

I'm having transmission issues with my 2012 Renault Wind, gasoline engine, about 70k km on it. The engine light keeps popping on, or sometimes it's a transmission warning light. I scanned it and it's showing a transmission oil pressure sensor fault. It's gone into emergency mode a couple of times. Also, the gears are slipping, or shifting really rough, and I'm hearing some nasty grinding noises when it shifts sometimes. I checked the basics, but I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas before I take it to a shop. Could it just be low on oil?

I am sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing with your Renault Wind's transmission. From your description, the symptoms indeed point to a potential issue with the transmission oil pressure sensor or the oil level itself. I once encountered a similar situation with my Opel Corsa; the symptoms were eerily alike. The error codes indicated a sensor malfunction, but the root cause turned out to be insufficient lubrication.

Thanks for the info! When you had that issue with your Corsa, did you just top up the oil, or was there more to it than that? I'm wondering if I can just add some oil and see if that fixes it.

In my experience with the Corsa, merely adding oil provided only temporary relief. The underlying problem persisted, and the error reoccurred shortly thereafter. Therefore I would suggest to visit a workshop. A thorough inspection of the sensor and the transmission system is essential to properly address the issue.

Thanks for the advice! I appreciate you sharing your experience. I took it to a shop, and they confirmed it was the oil level as well as the sensor. They charged 365€ to fix it. Now I can drive again!
