Renegade Hybrid Transmission Sensor Issues Alert

Thanks for sharing your experience. My Renegade had its last service at 82000 KM with oil change and standard checks. The pressure sensor readings show similar symptoms, and the diagnostic codes also point toward transmission pressure issues. The mechanic confirmed the transmission pressure switch is sending inconsistent signals, causing the control unit to default to emergency mode. A pressure gauge test revealed fluctuating readings outside normal parameters when the transmission is under load. Just looking to verify if the 365 Euro repair cost is still a reasonable estimate nowadays for addressing a transmission sensor fault, given current parts pricing.

Based on my experience with the Compass, that 365 Euro repair cost estimate might actually be on the low side now. When I had my transmission pressure switch replaced recently, parts costs had increased. The current repair typically runs between 450-500 Euro, including labor and diagnostic fees. The inconsistent pressure readings you described match exactly what my Compass displayed. The transmission oil pressure would fluctuate erratically under load, triggering the emergency mode. The new pressure sensor completely resolved these transmission issues and restored normal shifting behavior. Keep in mind the repair cost can vary if additional transmission problems are discovered during the fix. In my case, the technicians also found the sensor wiring harness needed replacement, which added to the final cost. Given your car shows the same symptoms and fault patterns, replacing the oil pressure sensor seems like the right approach. Just ensure they perform a complete transmission pressure test after installation to verify the system holds proper pressure under all operating conditions.

Thanks for the detailed follow-up. After getting more quotes from local shops, I see the 450-500 Euro range is indeed more accurate for the transmission sensor replacement. My workshop confirmed similar pricing, quoting 485 Euro for parts and labor. The transmission pressure test results look identical to what you experienced. Getting constant pressure drops under load and the sensor readings are all over the place. The mechanic also suggested checking the wiring harness during the repair, which makes sense given your experience. Going ahead with the repair next week. The transmission issues are getting more noticeable, and I dont want to risk running in emergency mode for too long. Will make sure they do a complete pressure test post-repair to verify everything is working correctly. This turned out to be a fairly common problem with these transmissions, based on both your feedback and what the workshop has seen. At least its a straightforward fix and not a complete transmission overhaul.

I had a similar transmission fault with my 2019 Jeep Compass Hybrid. Having some experience with transmission issues, I recognized the symptoms immediately, rough shifting and warning lights are classic signs of low transmission oil level. The diagnostic showed transmission pressure-related codes. My local workshop confirmed the oil level was significantly below minimum, which triggered the sensor warnings and emergency mode. The transmission sensor was sending incorrect readings due to insufficient oil pressure in the system. The fix involved: Complete transmission oil level check, System pressure gauge testing, Topping up transmission fluid, Clearing fault codes, Test drive to confirm proper operation Total repair cost was 365 Euro, including parts and labor. The car has been running smoothly since, with no recurring transmission issues. What diagnostic codes is your Renegade showing? This would help narrow down if your issue matches what I experienced. Also, when was your last transmission service? Low oil levels often develop gradually, so maintenance history could be relevant here.
