The air filter was replaced about 5000 km ago, so I don't think that's it. Fuel economy is down about 15%, and the exhaust smells really strong. Does that match what you saw?

Yeah, the bad smell is a good indicator. Mine was doing the exact same thing, plus the check engine light was driving me nuts. Honestly, after chasing a few possible causes myself, I just took it to a workshop. Turned out to be faulty injectors. Definitely worth getting it checked out properly.

Hey, I've got a Falcon too and those symptoms sound familiar! Have you checked your air filter recently? A clogged filter can mess with the air-fuel ratio. Is your fuel economy way worse than usual, or just a little bit?
