Rifter Knock Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Peugeot Rifter with a gasoline engine is experiencing increased fuel consumption, rough idling, and a check engine light, indicating a knock sensor fault. The visible wiring and plug appear intact, but the issue persists after clearing the error codes. A similar case suggested that the problem might be a faulty knock sensor or a defective connection, recommending a professional workshop inspection to test the cable and potentially replace the sensor and adjust the ignition timing.

Yeah, I cleared the codes, but the malfunction indicator came back on after about 50 km. That's what's making me think it's not just a fluke. The uneven idling is bugging me as well. What did it end up being for you, and how much did it hurt the wallet?

Sounds identical. I thought I could troubleshoot it myself, but in the end, it needed a new knock sensor. Since the error reappeared after deleting it, I recommend checking it out in the workshop. They'll be able to test the cable properly and, if necessary, replace the sensor, and adjust the ignition timing. It might just be a defective connection. If it's just that, you might get away with around 95€.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like chasing the connection issue is the place to start, but a trip to the shop is probably in order. Appreciate the help!

I had something similar happen on my Rifter – not sure of the year but it sounds familiar. Engine knock, warning light, the whole nine yards. At first, I thought it was bad gas, but the problem persisted. Higher fuel consumption as well. Did you clear the codes to see if it comes back?
