Rifter Overheating Electric Fan
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Peugeot Rifter with a gasoline engine is experiencing overheating issues, suspected to be related to the electric fan. A potential cause could be a faulty connection in the fan's wiring, such as corroded terminals, loose connections, or damaged wiring. The electric fan is typically located near the radiator, and checking these connections might resolve the problem. If unsure about handling electrical troubleshooting, consulting a professional is recommended.

Thanks for the tip! When you say 'faulty connection', what exactly should I be looking for? Is it something obvious, like a broken wire, or more subtle? Also, where exactly is the electric fan located? I am not the most expert on this.

Okay, when I say faulty connection, I mean checking for things like corroded terminals, loose connections, or damaged wiring near the plug that connects to the fan motor. Sometimes, the wires can get brittle from heat and crack. The electric fan should be mounted near the radiator, usually behind the grille or between the radiator and the engine. Honestly, if you're not totally comfortable with electrical troubleshooting, the safest bet is to take it to a workshop. My repair ended up costing around 95€, so it wasn't too bad.

Alright, that sounds like solid advice. I'll take a closer look at the connections, but if I'm not confident, I'll definitely take it to a shop. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it! It turned out a defective cable or plug connection of the component was the issue.

I also own a Peugeot Rifter (not sure of the year though), and I had a similar overheating issue a while back. It turned out to be a faulty connection in the electric fan's wiring. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the fan motor itself? A poor connection there could definitely cause the fan to malfunction and lead to overheating.
