Thanks for the tip. It seems to be all the time, regardless of speed. Where exactly is the electric steering fuse located? I've had a look but couldn't immediately spot it. Is it in the engine bay fuse box or under the dash?

OK, constant issue points away from speed-related causes. Fuse location should be in your owner's manual, check there first. If it's not the fuse, and you're getting error codes, I'd advise getting it looked at by a workshop with diagnostic tools. Could be a faulty sensor in the steering system.

Cheers for the advice. Turned out you were spot on with the dodgy connection idea! Took it to a local garage, they found a defective cable/plug connection to the power steering unit. 95€ later and it's sorted. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues on my old Citroen Berlingo van. Is it worse at certain speeds, or all the time? Have you checked the electric steering fuse? I'd start there before diving into the steering rack itself.
