RNessa NOx Sensor Exhaust Leak

My 2001 Nissan RNessa with a gasoline engine is showing a check engine light. Error memory points to the NOx sensor. I also noticed exhaust leaking. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Mileage is 140274 km. Anyone seen this before?

I had a similar issue with my RNessa. NOx sensor problems are common. Did you check the sensor's plug connection itself? Sometimes it's just a loose or corroded connection.

It's on the exhaust system, near the catalytic converter. Access can be tricky without a lift. Considering the exhaust leak and the potential for damage, I'd recommend a workshop visit. NOx sensor failure plus exhaust issues... could escalate quickly.

Took your advice and went to the shop. Turned out to be a broken wire at the sensor connector, just like you thought. Repair cost me 95€ Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
