Yes, the engine does surge a little sometimes, particularly at highway speeds. It's subtle, but noticeable. Was the torque converter the actual problem in your case? What did you end up doing about it?

Yep, torque converter was the culprit. Honestly, I'd suggest getting it checked out by a qualified workshop ASAP. Those symptoms sound pretty conclusive. Continuing to drive it like that could cause more damage.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I appreciate you sharing your experience. I'll definitely take it to a workshop for a professional diagnosis and repair. I hope it won't be too expensive. I will post what happens.

I had similar symptoms on my old Opel Vectra. The error code pointed to the torque converter too. Does the engine surge a bit at certain speeds, especially when it's supposed to lock up? That was a big clue for me.
