Roadster wont start Cranks but no ignition

Alright, so my 2014 Mini Roadster is giving me fits. It's got about 157223 km on it. The problem? It won't start. Just cranks and cranks, but no ignition. I'm thinking it might be electrical, maybe related to the engine control system. I haven't scanned for codes yet, but I'm suspecting an ECU issue or something related to the engine software. Any ideas before I start tearing things apart?

Engine not starting on a Roadster with that mileage could be a few things. First, have you checked the basics like the battery voltage? Also, any recent work done on the car? I had a similar issue once, turned out to be a faulty connection somewhere in the fuel injection system. Have you scanned for any error codes? That would be the first step, could be anything from a sensor issue to an ECU problem.

Thanks for the quick response! I did check the battery voltage, seems fine. No recent work done either. You mentioned a faulty connection in the fuel injection. Was it throwing any specific check engine light codes? And where exactly was the faulty connection located?

Yes, it did throw a check engine light, but I don't recall the exact code. I spent hours checking connections to the fuel injection system and eventually found that one of the cable connections of the battery was not good. I would suggest going to the workshop, they will find the issue quicker

Just wanted to give an update. You were spot on. Took it in, and it turned out to be corroded battery cable connections. They cleaned everything up, and she's purring like a kitten again. Cost me 155€, but well worth it to have her back on the road. Thanks again for the help!
