Rogue ABS and Steering Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid experienced issues with a low tire pressure warning, ABS light activation, steering wheel vibration, and difficult steering, suggesting a power steering failure. The suspected cause was a defective valve in one tire, leading to gradual pressure loss. A similar issue in another vehicle pointed to a faulty valve stem as the culprit. The problem was resolved by replacing the valve stem and balancing the tire, confirming the initial suspicion.

Yes, one tire was much lower than the others. I topped it up, and the warning disappeared for a bit, but it came back after a couple of days. Did you also notice a quick pressure loss in one tire on your Volvo, like my Rogue?

Yes. The pressure loss was key. At first, I thought it was just a slow leak. But the steering issues made me think it was something more. It turned out to be a faulty valve stem. Given your symptoms, especially the pressure loss and steering issues, I'd get it checked at a workshop. It's better to be safe with steering and braking.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I took your advice and brought my Rogue to a mechanic. Like you thought, it was a defective valve stem causing a slow leak and triggering those warnings. The repair, including a new valve and tire balancing, cost 280€. Your insights were invaluable!

That sounds like a problem I had with my 2016 Volvo XC60 last year. I also had the low tire pressure warning, and some steering issues. The ABS light wasn't always on, but the steering felt heavier at times. Was the tire noticeably low when you checked it?
