Rogue Hybrid High Voltage Error

I'm pulling my hair out here. I've got a 2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid, and it's throwing a high-voltage system error at 129950 km. It's happened a few times now. First, the error message pops up, then the engine just decides to shut off, and I get seriously reduced engine power before it does. It's scary! I scanned it, and there's an error stored, but I'm not sure what to do next. I'm thinking it might be a voltage sensor or something in the electrical wiring, but honestly, I'm just guessing. Anyone else seen this before?

I experienced a similar issue with my 2017 Toyota Prius. The diagnostic trouble code indicated a severely discharged or defective high-voltage battery. Have you checked the battery's condition using a multimeter, or have you considered inspecting the battery management system for any irregularities?

Okay, thanks for the tip! I haven't checked it with a multimeter yet, honestly not sure where to even start poking around with that thing in a hybrid system. When you say 'battery management system', are you talking about the whole wiring harness and all that?

Yes. The battery management system encompasses the wiring harness and associated control modules. However, considering the intricacies of high-voltage systems, I must advise caution. It would be prudent to consult with a certified technician. In my case, it became apparent that the battery cells were no longer holding a sufficient charge, necessitating a battery replacement.

Thanks a bunch! I was hoping it wouldn't be the whole battery. I took it to the shop, and you were right, the battery was heavily discharged. They ran some tests and confirmed it was defective. Ended up costing me 290€ to get it sorted, but at least it's fixed! Appreciate the advice.
