Thanks for the detailed information about the oil pressure issue. I had very similar problems with my RS3 last year. After an emergency oil change and system flush, they discovered the oil filter was completely clogged with metal particles. The oil contamination was worse than expected. Have you managed to get it fixed since your post? Would be great to know the final cost of your repair and if any other issues surfaced after resolving the oil pressure warning. My repair ended up being surprisingly expensive, but at least it prevented more serious engine damage.

Good news, the oil pressure issue was completely resolved after visiting the mechanic. The contaminated engine oil was successfully flushed out and replaced. The total repair cost came to 165 Euro, which covered the complete service including a new oil filter and fresh engine oil. No additional problems have occurred since the fix. The engine runs smoothly now and all warning lights cleared up. Regular oil changes are crucial, learned this lesson the hard way. The technician confirmed that catching these oil-related issues early prevented potentially severe engine damage that could have cost thousands to repair. The maintenance interval exceeded was the root cause, but keeping up with scheduled oil changes since then has kept the oil pressure stable. Would strongly recommend anyone seeing similar warning signs to get them checked immediately, as waiting typically leads to more extensive engine damage and higher repair costs.

After my original post, I took the car to a trusted mechanic who diagnosed severe oil contamination in the engine. The metal particles in the oil filter were concerning, but thankfully they caught it before causing major engine damage. The total repair came to 890 Euro including: Complete oil system flush, New oil filter, Premium synthetic engine oil, Oil pressure sensor replacement, System diagnostic check The repair took about 4 hours but the results were worth it. The engine runs much smoother now and all warning lights cleared immediately. The mechanic showed me the contaminated oil they drained, it was practically black and full of debris. Going forward, I am sticking to strict maintenance intervals to prevent any more oil-related issues. The repair cost was high but still cheaper than risking complete engine failure. Really glad I asked here first and got that helpful advice about not driving with the warning lights on.

Had the same situation with my 2014 Audi S3. The oil pressure warning light typically signals a serious issue that needs immediate attention. During my garage visit, the inspection revealed dark, contaminated oil indicating the maintenance interval was exceeded. The oil color was almost black, which pointed to potential oil sludge buildup in the engine. The technicians found partially clogged oil passages, which caused the low oil pressure warning. This required a complete oil system flush, new oil filter, and fresh oil change. They also checked the oil pump as low pressure can indicate pump failure. This is definitely a serious issue, driving with low oil pressure risks severe engine damage. Before taking it to a shop: 1. Check the oil level using the dipstick 2. Look under the car for any oil leaks 3. Note if there are any unusual engine noises 4. Check when your last oil change was performed Stop driving the car if possible. Having the oil pressure warning ignored can lead to complete engine failure. The 2.0 TFSI engine in these models is particularly sensitive to oil-related issues when maintenance is delayed.
