Thanks for sharing your experience. This sounds similar to the LED headlight cleaning malfunction I had with my RS4. After the repair, both cleaning systems have worked flawlessly for over a year now. Just wondering, what was the total cost for fixing your system? Also, have you noticed any other related issues since the repair was completed? My mechanic mentioned these faults can sometimes indicate other underlying problems.

Since having my S4 repaired last year, the headlight cleaning system has worked perfectly. The total repair cost came to 165 Euro, which covered fixing a faulty cable connection to the pump and relay replacement. This was actually less expensive than initially expected, given the complex integration of the Xenon headlight cleaning components with the main washer system. No other related problems have emerged after the repair. The cleaning system now delivers consistent pressure for both the windshield and headlight washers. The key was having a thorough diagnostic done to identify the exact electrical fault rather than just replacing parts out of nowhere. Most importantly, getting the system fixed prevented potential damage to other components. A properly functioning headlight cleaning system is essential for maintaining optimal visibility, especially with high-performance lighting systems.

I appreciate all the helpful responses. Finally got my RS4 fixed last week. Turned out the main pump was completely dead and several hoses were blocked. The system needed a full overhaul including new connectors and a thorough cleaning of all lines. The repair took about 3 hours and cost 280 Euro. Found a specialist who really knew these Xenon systems inside out. They showed me the old components, the pump was totally corroded and one of the main hoses had actually split. Everything works perfectly now. The headlight washers have strong pressure and the windshield gets properly cleaned. Definitely worth getting it done right rather than trying cheaper temporary fixes. The mechanic also gave the entire system a preventive cleaning to avoid future blockages. At least now I know what to watch out for if similar issues come up again.

Had the exact same fault on my 2012 Audi S4. The cleaning system stopped working completely, both windshield and headlights. The issue turned out to be a combination of problems. First, the washer fluid hose had developed a clog due to debris buildup. The system also had a faulty relay connection to the pump. These components work together, so when one fails, the whole system typically stops functioning. The repair involved: Complete system diagnostic, Cleaning of all washer fluid lines, Replacement of the main pump relay, Testing connections and electrical components, Verifying proper flow through all nozzles This was quite a serious repair since accessing the pump and relay required removing several components to reach the system. The fault needed professional attention, not something for DIY repair due to the complexity of connections and testing requirements. Worth noting that these systems in Audi performance models are more complex than standard versions due to the headlight cleaning integration. Getting it fixed properly the first time prevents recurring issues.
