RS6 SOS System Failure: Emergency Call Glitch Alert

Has anyone dealt with emergency call system issues on a 2010 RS6? Getting multiple warning lights and errors in the speedometer cluster. The telematics control module seems to be acting up, causing constant SOS signal failures. Looking for experiences with similar problems and repair solutions from workshops that successfully fixed this. Would especially like to know the root cause and repair costs involved. The automotive electronics are otherwise working fine, just these specific warnings keep showing up.

Thanks for sharing about the RS6 emergency call malfunction. I had a similar issue with my 2012 S6, also causing system reset problems with the telematics unit. After dealing with constant SOS warning lights, I took it to a workshop where they diagnosed a faulty wiring connection to the telematics control module. The cable harness had developed a poor contact over time, triggering these car safety alerts. The fix involved replacing several connection pins and rewiring part of the emergency call system. Total repair cost was 95 Euro, which included diagnostic work and parts. Before recommending specific solutions, could you share: Current mileage on your RS6, When the problem first started, If the issue appears more during cold starts, Whether you notice the problem gets worse in wet weather This information would help determine if your case matches what I experienced with my S6, as these telematics issues can have various root causes. The good news is that once properly fixed, the system should work reliably again. Regular maintenance of these connections helps prevent future malfunctions.

My RS6 has 99174 KM on the clock, with the last service done just 2 months ago. The control module warnings started appearing out of nowhere, regardless of weather or temperature. Unlike your experience, my issue seems more erratic and unpredictable. The car safety systems still function, but those SOS signal alerts keep popping up multiple times during each drive. Recent diagnostic scans showed no other automotive electronics faults, which makes this even more puzzling. A 95 Euro repair would be great, but I suspect this might need more extensive work.

Thanks for those additional details about your RS6. The fact that your emergency call system malfunction appears out of nowhere, regardless of conditions, points to a different issue than what I encountered with my S6. In my case, the telematics issues were clearly weather-dependent. But given your car shows these warnings consistently after a recent service, the diagnostic codes might be pointing to a failing control module rather than just connection problems. The repair costs for a full module replacement typically run between 450-600 Euro, significantly more than my wiring fix. However, before going that route, have a technician check the antenna connections. My S6 initially showed similar unpredictable call failure patterns, and we first suspected the module, but it turned out the antenna mounting had worked loose. The good news is that since your other automotive electronics are working properly, we can likely rule out more complex system integration problems. These telematics modules are designed to operate independently to maintain emergency call functionality. Would you mind sharing which specific diagnostic codes are showing up? This could help confirm whether your issue matches any known patterns.

Based on all the provided details, I really appreciate your thorough diagnosis suggestions. The recurring SOS signal problems definitely seem more complex than a simple wiring issue. After checking my diagnostic codes, I found error code C133B8 related to the telematics control module. The repeated call failures are quite concerning, especially since they persist after the recent service. I will schedule an appointment to have the antenna connections inspected first, before considering a full module replacement. The 450-600 Euro range for a new unit is steep, but safety systems need to work reliably. At least the core automotive electronics remain stable, which suggests the issue is isolated to the emergency call system components. Thanks for sharing your experience, it helps to know these problems are fixable. Will update once I get a proper diagnostic done and find out if its the antenna or if I need that full system reset and module replacement.
