RX intermittent starting and stalling

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2001 Lexus RX with a gasoline engine. Sometimes it won't start, other times it shuts off while I'm driving, and occasionally runs really rough. Anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking it might be the ignition switch, but I'm not sure where to start. I've checked the fuses but they seem ok.

I think I might have had a similar issue with my RX. The symptoms sound familiar. Does it happen more when it's hot outside, or after the car has been running for a while? I am thinking of a faulty ignition coil but I am not sure. Have you checked the error codes using an OBD scanner?

Thanks for the reply! It doesn't seem to be related to the temperature. I haven't checked the error codes yet. I am planning on doing it now. Any chance it was a fuse for you? Did the ignition coil replacement solve your issues?

In my case, it wasn't a fuse and error codes did not point towards any concrete problem. It ended up being a quirky ignition switch. Seriously, take it to a reliable workshop; they should be able to diagnose it accurately. Playing guessing games with electrical issues can be a pain.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out it was a faulty fuse, after all. The workshop found it right away; cost me 52€ including labor. Really appreciate the help!
