S Klasse AC woes No cold air Help
Summary of the thread
The 2005 Mercedes S Klasse is experiencing issues with the AC system, blowing hot air and not switching on. The suspected cause is valve failure within the AC system, though other potential causes like the pressure switch, temperature control module, or AC relay were considered. After some troubleshooting advice, it was confirmed that valve failure was indeed the issue, and the problem was resolved at a cost of approximately 1000€.

Thanks for the tips Where exactly is the pressure switch located And how do I test the temperature control module I've got a multimeter if that helps

Okay so the pressure switch is usually on one of the AC lines, often near the condenser You can test it with your multimeter for continuity when the AC is supposed to be running As for the temperature control module, that's a bit trickier and might need a diagnostic scan Honestly, if you're not super comfortable with that stuff, it might be worth taking it to a workshop Could save you a lot of headaches in the long run

Appreciate the advice I think you are right I'll get it to a shop Turns out it was exactly what I suspected valve failure in the AC system Cost me about 1000€ to get it fixed but at least I have cold air again

Oh that sounds rough I had a similar problem with my S Klasse cooling system a while back Is your pressure switch working correctly That can cause the whole system to shut down Also, have you checked the temperature control module Sometimes those go haywire and prevent the AC from kicking on If the pressure is off the AC wont engage The AC relay could be the culprit, but I'd check those other things first It's always something with these cars isnt it
