S Klasse Hybrid Stalling at Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Mercedes S Klasse hybrid was experiencing stalling at idle and a check engine light. The issue was suspected to be a fuel tank ventilation system leak, possibly due to a defective activated charcoal filter or a pressure sensor problem affecting airflow. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the activated charcoal filter was the cause, and replacing it resolved the stalling and cleared the check engine light.

Thanks for the reply Yeah it's mostly at idle like when I stop at a light Does your mechanic mentioned anything specific about the activated charcoal filter and the air flow I just want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off before they start tearing things apart

I don't remember the specifics to be honest I just remember him saying it was a pain to diagnose Seriously I'd just take it to a reputable workshop They'll hook it up to the computer and pinpoint the issue pretty quickly It's better than messing around with it yourself and potentially making things worse

Thanks You were right I took it to the workshop and they confirmed it was the activated charcoal filter in the fuel tank ventilation system Cost me 275€ to get it sorted Check engine light is gone and the stalling seems to be fixed Appreciate the advice

I had a similar problem with my S Klasse Check engine light rough idle It was indeed related to the fuel tank and some kind of ventilation thing I'm no expert but I remember the mechanic mentioning something about the fuel tank needing to breathe properly and the pressure sensor being involved Is it constantly stalling or just sometimes
