S Klasse radar sensor issue

I have a 2015 Mercedes S Klasse with a diesel engine, only 24134 km on the clock, and suddenly I'm getting a 'Radar sensor not working' error in the speedometer! There's also an error stored in the error memory. It seems to be causing other systems to fail too. Collision avoidance is definitely offline, and I've got a warning light staring me down from the speedometer. Could this be something as simple as a dirty automotive sensors issue messing with the whole system, or am I looking at something more serious with the radar sensor?

I had a similar issue with my S Klasse. Were you getting any interference with other systems? Did you check the sensor itself for any obvious dirt or obstructions?

Interference with other systems, yes, like I said the collision avoidance isn't working. I haven't physically checked the radar sensor yet, where is it located and how easy is it to get to? Is radar calibration something I can do myself or is that workshop territory?

On my car the sensor was behind the front bumper. I wouldn't recommend trying radar calibration yourself. It requires specialized equipment. I ended up taking mine to the workshop. They cleaned the sensor and recalibrated it.

Thanks for the insight! I cleaned the sensor, and while I was at it decided to get the radar calibration checked at the workshop. Turns out a bit of grime was causing the issue. Cost me 45€, but everything is working perfectly now!
