S Klasse tire pressure warning

My 2008 Mercedes S Klasse with a diesel engine is showing a tire pressure warning. Mileage is at 89337 km. The display says tire pressure is too low, and there's an error stored. I've checked the tires, inflated them correctly, but the error persists. Could it be a sensor fault?

I had a similar TPMS issue on my S Klasse. Did you try a simple reset through the car's computer? Sometimes that clears it. If the tire pressure is actually correct, and the warning is still there, it very well could be a sensor going bad.

How exactly did you reset it through the computer? I've been digging through the menus, but I don't see an obvious reset function. And if it is the sensor, is that a costly repair?

The reset procedure should be in your owner's manual, usually under the tire pressure monitoring section. As for the cost, it wasn't cheap, but not outrageous either. If it's the sensor, and the battery is depleted, you'll have to replace it. I'd suggest taking it to a trusted workshop. They can confirm the sensor fault and give you an exact quote.

Thanks for the advice. I checked with a local mechanic. Turns out the front left sensor was faulty, just like you suspected. Got it replaced. Total cost was 280€. Error message is gone. Appreciate the help!
