S10 diesel cold start issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Chevrolet S10 diesel is experiencing rough engine running on cold starts, an error code, and increased fuel consumption. The owner suspects the PTC heater might be the cause. Another person with a similar issue found that a defective electric auxiliary heater was responsible, suggesting it be checked by a workshop. The owner plans to have the electric auxiliary heater inspected to resolve the problem.

Blower motor seems fine, and the temperature control seems responsive, but I will double-check. What was the issue with your S10 when you had similar symptoms?

Turned out the electric auxiliary heater was defective. Caused similar symptoms. Worth getting it checked by a workshop, especially with the error code. Repair was around 350€ for me.

Appreciate the confirmation. I'll take it to a workshop to get the electric auxiliary heater checked. Hopefully, that resolves it. Thanks for sharing!

Had something like that with my S10 a while back. Is the blower motor working properly? Check if the temperature control seems off, or if the electrical system seems to be acting strangely.
