S10 Engine Power Loss

I'm experiencing a reduction in engine power with my 2022 Chevrolet S10 gasoline engine, accompanied by the check engine light. At 133297 kilometers, the engine runs rough, jerks during acceleration, and stalls at idle. Could this be a mixture preparation error, like a defective injection valve? What diagnostic steps should I pursue?

Summary of the thread

The 2022 Chevrolet S10 is experiencing engine power loss, rough running, jerking during acceleration, and stalling at idle, with the check engine light on. Possible causes include a defective injection valve, mass airflow sensor issues, vacuum leaks, or a faulty oxygen sensor affecting the air-fuel mixture. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle professionally diagnosed at a workshop, where it was confirmed that a defective injector was the issue.

Interesting. I had comparable symptoms on my S10. Have you looked at the mass airflow sensor or checked for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold? A faulty oxygen sensor could also be throwing off the air-fuel ratio. Does your check engine light give you any specific error codes?

I had considered the mass airflow sensor and potential intake manifold leaks, but I hadn't explored the oxygen sensor. Is it possible a faulty oxygen sensor could cause these symptoms? Were your symptoms exactly like mine?

Yes, the symptoms were almost exactly as you described, especially the jerking and rough idle. I spent ages checking sensors until a mechanic pointed out the injectors. Given the complexity, I think the best next step would be to have it professionally examined at a workshop. These symptoms sound like some I dealt with before a visit I made to the mechanic.

I appreciate your insight. I'll schedule a visit to a trusted workshop for a comprehensive diagnosis. It seems the defective injector was indeed the culprit. The final bill came to 515€. Thank you for assistance.
