S2000 Low Heating Output
Summary of the thread
The 2003 Honda S2000 is experiencing low heating output, with an error indicating a fault in the defrost air distribution flap. This issue might be due to a defective cable or plug connection. While a faulty blower motor could also be a factor, the problem seems to be electrical. It is recommended to consult a professional to accurately diagnose and repair the issue.

Thanks. I haven't checked the blower motor yet. How do I assess it, and what climate control settings affect the defrost air distribution flap?

The blower motor is behind the dashboard. Testing it means checking the voltage and current draw at different speeds. It's complex. Manual or auto climate control shouldn't impact the flap if it's working. The error code and your description point to an electrical fault, but without tools, pinpointing it will be hard. I'd recommend a workshop.

Thanks for the explanation. I'll consult a professional. Thanks for confirming my thoughts about a faulty connection. I'll take it to a workshop. They quoted 95€ for the repair, so hopefully that fixes it.

Regarding your S2000, it's plausible that the reduced heating and the error code for the defrost air distribution flap are connected to a faulty cable or plug. But, it could be a deeper HVAC issue. Have you checked the blower motor? Is it working at all speeds? What climate control settings are you using?
