S40 ABS Traction Light

My 2011 Volvo S40 diesel is showing ABS light at 229609 km, causing traction problems and disabling ABS. Suspecting a speed signal fault or defective control unit. Anyone experienced this? Could faulty transmission input affect the ECM and trigger these issues? Heard of a 1000€ repair, trying to avoid it.

Sounds familiar. I have an S40 too. Similar ABS/traction light issues. What scanner are you using to read the codes?

I'm using a generic OBD2 scanner, gives me a speed sensor error, but nothing specific. What did yours point to? And what did you do?

Mine was the ABS module itself. Had to get it replaced. Just take it to a workshop.
