S40 Automatic Temperature Control Failure

I'm having a bizarre issue with my 2000 Volvo S40 diesel. The automatic temperature control has completely given up! The air conditioning refuses to kick in, and I've got an error code stored that points to the interior temperature sensor. I suspect it's a dodgy cable or plug connection. Has anyone else encountered this? It's driving me nuts!

I had something similar happen in my S40. Is the sensor completely dead, or is it just acting erratically?

Good question! It seems completely dead. No response whatsoever. Did yours also throw an error code related to the sensor?

Yep, same symptoms, same error code. In the end, I just bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly.

Thanks for confirming! I was hoping it was something simple, but it sounds like a trip to the shop is inevitable. I've booked it in and they quoted me 95€, so hopefully that will fix it. Thanks again for the help!
