S40 Climate Control Failure
Summary of the thread
The climate control panel on a 2002 Volvo S40 stopped working, with weak heating and a non-functional AC. The suspected cause was a defective cable or plug. A suggestion was made to check the wiring harness near the blower motor, which led to the discovery of a corroded connector. Cleaning the connector resolved the issue.

Thanks! I haven't checked the wiring harness near the blower motor, I was focused on the ones connected to the control panel. Is it difficult to get to the blower motor harness? Do you remember the error code?

The blower motor is a bit of a pain to get to, but not impossible. I don't recall the exact error code, but it was related to power supply. If you're not comfortable tracing wires, it might be worth taking it to a workshop to save yourself the headache.

I took it to a local shop. It was a corroded connector in the wiring harness, like you suspected! They cleaned it up and charged me 95€ for the repair. Appreciate the advice!

I had something similar happen in my S40. Have you checked the wiring harness near the blower motor? That's where my issue was. What kind of error are you seeing?
