S40 door lock issue

Hey, my 2002 Volvo S40 with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The doors won't lock or unlock anymore, seems like a faulty door contact signal. Mileage is at 20952 km. Suspect it's a cable or plug issue. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my S40, too. Couldn't lock the car at all. Have you checked the door sensor? Is there anything obviously wrong with the car sensor?

Yeah, I checked the sensor visually. Nothing obvious jumped out. How did you figure out it was the door sensor on yours?

Well, I had the same symptoms: doors refusing to cooperate. I took it to a workshop and they traced it back to a faulty door switch. The repair cost around 95€. Save yourself the hassle and get it properly diagnosed.
