S40 Fault Code Coding Error
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Volvo S40 diesel displayed a fault code and error message related to a coding error. The issue was identified as incorrect coding of a control module, which caused the vehicle to send incorrect signals. The recommended solution was to have the module recoded at a workshop, which successfully resolved the problem.

Yes, the scanner indicated a coding error. Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'incorrect coding'?

Certainly. The control module within my Astra required proper programming to function correctly with the vehicle's system. When the coding is incorrect, the module sends incorrect signals, triggering fault codes and error messages. I would advise a workshop visit to recode the module.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a shop, and it turned out the car's coding was incorrect, just like you said. Recoding cost me 360€, but it fixed the issue.

I experienced similar issues with my Opel Astra; various electrical faults and corresponding error messages. In my case the error code was caused by incorrect coding of one of the control modules. Have you scanned for specific fault codes using a diagnostic scanner?
