S40 Rail Pressure Sensor Fault

I have a 2000 Volvo S40 with a gasoline engine. The check engine light comes on, the engine stalls at idle, and engine power is reduced. Suspect the rail pressure sensor signal is faulty. Anyone else experience this?

The suspected cause is a faulty rail pressure sensor signal. Replacing the pressure sensor improved the starting issue, and a workshop visit confirmed the sensor was faulty, leading to its repair.

I had similar symptoms with my S40. Check engine light and stalling. Was it also hard to start?

Yes, it was also hard to start. Did replacing the pressure sensor fix it?

Sounds like the pressure sensor. It improved starting, but I took it to a workshop to get it sorted properly.

Thanks. The pressure sensor was indeed faulty. Repair cost 240€.
