S60 AC Not Working

I've got a 2011 Volvo S60 with a gasoline engine and the A/C won't switch on. It's blowing warm air. Diagnostic tool shows an error, though I didn't write down the code. I'm suspecting undervoltage. Could a weak battery cause the A/C compressor to shut off? The car has only done 45289 km. Has anyone else experienced something similar with their S60?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my S60. The A/C would just randomly cut out. Did you check the AC relay? Also, is the belt tensioner okay? Could be a simple fix before you go down the compressor route. Is there any other problem with the car? Like starting issues?

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't checked the AC relay specifically, but I will. Where is it usually located in the S60? And regarding the belt tensioner, how would I know if it's faulty? Visually, or is there a specific test I should perform? As far as I know, there aren't any starting issues.

The relay is usually in the main fuse box under the hood. As for the tensioner, check if the belt is loose or if the tensioner pulley is wobbling. Honestly, if you're not sure, it might be worth taking it to a workshop. I ended up doing that, and they sorted it out quickly.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! I appreciate the cautious advice and will definitely take it to my mechanic. Turns out, it was undervoltage and some corrosion, cleaning contacts and replacing the AC relay did the trick! Repair ended up costing 240€.
