It does indicate errors related to the transmission sensor. Could you tell me the error codes you saw? Were they also pointing towards the transmission sensor?

Yes, that confirms my suspicions. I remember the error codes indicating issues with the transmission sensor and its communication with the ECU. Eventually, the car wouldn't shift out of park. I strongly recommend taking it to a trusted workshop for a diagnosis and repair. It might save you from further damage and potential safety hazards.

I brought the car to a workshop. The diagnosis confirmed the issue with the control unit, which cost 1000€ to repair. Your experience proved invaluable in resolving this.

That sounds familiar. I've got a similar Volvo S60, and I had similar symptoms a while back. It turned out to be a faulty transmission sensor causing problems. Did it throw any specific error codes when you scanned it?
