S60 charge air temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Volvo S60 hybrid experienced a check engine light, reduced power, and a loud hissing sound upon acceleration, with an OBD error pointing to the charge air temperature sensor. The issue was suspected to be related to the sensor's cable or plug. A suggestion was made to inspect the wiring harness for damage or corrosion and clean the sensor connector. Upon professional inspection, the problem was identified as a defective connector, which was then replaced.

The error appeared suddenly. Where is the wiring harness located, and what should I look for? Also, what contact cleaner do you recommend?

The wiring harness runs along the intake, towards the front of the engine. Look for breaks, frays, or loose connections. Given the symptoms and sudden onset, it might be worth having a workshop take a look. It could save time and prevent further issues.

Following your advice, I had a workshop inspect the charge air temperature sensor. It was a defective connector. The repair, including the replacement of the connector, was 95€.

I had a similar experience with my S60. Check the sensor's wiring harness for damage or corrosion. Also, try cleaning the sensor connector with electrical contact cleaner. Was the error intermittent at first, or did it appear suddenly?
