S7 Engine Stalls & Check Light: Fuel Quality Alert

Had similar issues with my 2017 S5. The symptoms matched exactly, unusual stalling and check engine warnings. The fuel contamination was causing inconsistent fuel mixture, leading to those exact problems. The fix required cleaning the entire fuel system and replacing the fuel filter. The fuel quality had created deposits in the injectors, affecting the proper atomization. Initially thought it was just a sensor issue, but the scope test revealed significant contamination. The wrong fuel grade combined with contaminated fuel created multiple issues. The problem took 3 days to resolve completely as the system needed thorough cleaning. This is a serious issue that can lead to long-term engine damage if left untreated. Since the repair, running only high-grade fuel and changing the fuel filter at recommended intervals has prevented any recurrence. The stalling issues disappeared completely after the service. Check for water in your fuel tank and consider getting a fuel system diagnosis. The symptoms point strongly to fuel-related issues rather than electrical problems.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Those fuel contamination problems can be nasty. After cleaning my combustion chamber and replacing the fuel filter on my S7, the stalling completely stopped. Been running smooth for 8 months now with no issues. The fuel additives they used during cleaning really helped remove all the deposits. Curious, do you remember roughly what you paid for the full service? Also wondering if youve had any other fuel system problems since the fix?

The total service cost was much lower than expected at 95 Euro, mainly for fixing a faulty cable connection that was affecting the fuel system readings. The initial concerns about fuel contamination turned out to be off base, the stalling was actually caused by a loose connection throwing off the fuel mixture readings in the combustion chamber. Since fixing the incorrect fuel composition issue and that connection, the car has been running perfectly. None of those original symptoms have returned. The mechanic did recommend using fuel additives occasionally for preventive maintenance, but honestly, just being more selective about fuel quality has kept everything running smoothly. Eight months of trouble-free operation is great to hear. These engines are pretty robust when they get the right fuel and proper maintenance. The key is catching these issues early before they can cause any serious damage to the fuel system.

Thanks for everyones input. Finally got my car sorted after visiting a new mechanic. The entire ordeal cost me 850 Euro but it was worth every cent. They found significant carbon deposits affecting the fuel economy and causing those engine knock issues. The repair process took 2 days. They did a complete fuel system cleaning, replaced the fuel filter, and added some special fuel additives to clear out the remaining gunk. The mechanic showed me the old filter, it was completely clogged with debris from poor fuel quality. Since the fix, the engine runs like new. No more stalling, no warning lights, and even noticed better fuel economy. Really glad I didnt wait longer to get it fixed. Been using premium fuel since then and plan to stick with regular maintenance schedules to avoid future issues.
