Thanks for sharing your experience. These non-functional cruise control problems can be really annoying. My 2020 S7 had almost identical symptoms with the speedometer errors and cruise control issues. The steering wheel control module was indeed the culprit in my case too. Going straight to my mechanic for diagnostics saved me from replacing unnecessary parts. The faulty system turned out to be just a matter of reconnecting and cleaning the control module pins. How much did the repair cost in your case? Have you experienced any similar issues since getting it fixed?

After getting my S5 fixed, the cruise control has worked flawlessly without any malfunctions. Car electronics can be tricky, but this turned out to be a straightforward repair. The total cost came to 95 Euro for cleaning and fixing the cable connection issue. The diagnostics helped identify the exact problem right away, avoiding unnecessary component replacements. All steering wheel functions, particularly the cruise control system, have been operating perfectly since the repair. Its been several months now with no recurring issues or error messages. The key was finding a technician who properly diagnosed the root cause rather than just replacing parts. When electrical connections are involved, proper diagnostics make all the difference in resolving these kinds of problems permanently.

I finally got the issue resolved last week. After reading about similar car electronics issues here, I went to a different repair shop that specializes in electrical diagnostics. They immediately identified the actuator connection problem without trying to upsell unnecessary parts. The complete repair took about 2 hours and cost 120 Euro. The technician cleaned the connectors, checked all related wiring, and performed a full system reset. The malfunction turned out to be exactly what others described, corroded pins in the steering wheel control module. Since the repair, both the speedometer and cruise control are working perfectly. No more error messages or non-functional systems. Really glad I got a second opinion instead of going back to my previous mechanic who wanted to replace the entire module.

Had a similar issue on my S5 2017. The cruise control and speedometer malfunction turned out to be related to the steering wheel control module connector. The diagnostics revealed multiple error codes pointing to signal interruption. The root cause was corroded pins in the connector between the steering wheel controls and the main harness. This commonly happens when moisture gets trapped in that area. The fix required cleaning the connections and replacing the control module connector. This is typically not a serious issue, but requires precise work since the steering wheel assembly needs partial disassembly to access the connection points. The fuse box was checked first, but all fuses were intact. The problem specifically affected all steering wheel mounted controls, including cruise control buttons. A qualified technician should be able to diagnose and repair this in a few hours. Make sure they check the wiring continuity between the steering wheel controls and the ECU before replacing any major components. Would recommend getting a proper diagnostics scan first, as similar symptoms can also point to a faulty clock spring or steering angle sensor depending on how the error presents itself.
