S80 Air Suspension Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Volvo S80 is experiencing air suspension issues, including failure to lift, leaning to one side, and a bumpy ride, with an error displayed on the speedometer. The problem is likely due to a defective air suspension bellows valve, as indicated by a stored error code and symptoms. A constantly running compressor could further suggest an air leak in the system. The issue was resolved by replacing the faulty valve, confirming the initial diagnosis.

Thanks. I haven't checked the compressor specifically, but I will. If it's running constantly, does that definitively point to an air leak, possibly in the bellows valve?

Yeah, a constantly running compressor is a strong indicator. I'd bet you've got a defective suspension air bag valve. Considering the error message and leaning, it is almost certainly an air suspension bellows valve defective. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, they sorted it out pretty quick.

I appreciate the advice. After inspection, it was indeed a faulty air suspension bellows valve. The total repair cost came to about 590€. Thanks again for your help!

Sounds familiar. My old Audi A6 had similar symptoms a few years back. Turned out to be an air leak in the suspension system. Is the compressor running constantly, trying to inflate the system?
