S80 Engine Stalling At Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Volvo S80 is experiencing engine stalling at idle, accompanied by a persistent check engine light and an error code. The suspected cause is a contaminated intake affecting the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. A workshop confirmed the issue, identifying a faulty IAC valve and a heavily contaminated intake, and the repair was completed to address the problem.

Yes, the check engine light is always on. What valve issue did your Renault have? Was it also an IAC valve, and did it happen primarily at idle?

Can't recall exactly, but the garage guys mentioned idle speed and some air thing. Best to just get it checked out by a professional.

A workshop confirmed a faulty IAC valve and a heavily contaminated intake. Repair cost 425€. Hopefully, that fixes it.

I had similar stalling issues with my old Renault Megane. Turned out to be some valve thing too. Was the check engine light always on?
