S80 Engine Stalling at Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Volvo S80 diesel with 149,250 km is experiencing engine stalling at idle and a persistent check engine light. The suspected cause is a tank ventilation issue, possibly due to clogged hoses. A suggestion to check the gas cap and purge valve was made, leading to the discovery of clogged hoses, which were repaired at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll check the gas cap. Where exactly is the purge valve located, and is there a way to check if it's working correctly?

It's near the engine, part of the emission system. Honestly, it's a pain to get to. If the gas cap is acting weird, and the light's still on, I'd just take it to a workshop. Save yourself the headache.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it was a ventilation issue. Turns out the hoses were indeed clogged, as I suspected. The repair cost 175€. Appreciate the help!

Hey, I had something similar happen with my S80. Check your gas cap and the purge valve. Is it hard to open the gas cap, like there's a vacuum?
