S80 fuel level sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Volvo S80 with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues with the check engine light on and occasional stalling when idling. I didn't notice anything weird with the fuel gauge before this started. Are you saying the gauge might have failed at the same time as the sensor? Is that common?

Well, in my case it was a bit of both. Gauge was wonky for a bit, then the light. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it too much. Just take it to a workshop, they'll sort it out faster than you can say 'expensive Swedish engineering'.

I'm going to schedule an appointment with a technician. I got the issue resolved for 52€. It was a faulty sensor.

Hey, I've got an S80 too. Your problem sounds familiar. I had almost the same symptoms a while back. Did you check the fuel gauge itself? Was it acting weird before the light came on?
