S80 Handsfree System Failure

Thanks for the quick reply! I did try a system reset via the menu, but it didn't change anything. I haven't checked the fuses yet, that's a good point. As for other malfunctions, everything else seems to be working fine: the radio, CD player, navigation... It's just the hands-free microphone that's dead. When you had this problem, was it also isolated to just the Bluetooth phone functionality?

Yes. In my case, the issue was confined to the Bluetooth telephony; all other infotainment functions operated as expected. Given your attempts at a system reset have proven unsuccessful, and the fault appears isolated, I would advise seeking a professional diagnostic assessment. It is plausible that a component within the hands-free module has failed, necessitating repair or replacement. I recommend visiting a reputable workshop to receive an accurate repair quote.

Thanks a lot for your help! I took it to a Volvo specialist, and you were right – it was a defective module in the infotainment system. The repair cost me 815€, but at least it's working perfectly again now. I appreciate you confirming the problem and suggesting the workshop; saved me a lot of time and further frustration.

I have a similar Volvo S80 and recall encountering a comparable issue some time ago. The symptoms you describe – the inability to use telephony and the error message – are strikingly familiar. Before replacing components, have you attempted a system reset or checked the fuse box? Are there any other malfunctions within the infotainment system, or is it solely the hands-free functionality that is affected?
