S80 Key Battery Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Volvo S80 owner experienced issues with a 'Key battery low' warning, non-functional keyless access, and error messages. The suspected cause was a dead key fob battery. It was advised to replace the battery and check error codes at a workshop. After replacing the battery, the issues were resolved, confirming the battery was the sole problem.

Yeah, the low battery warning seems to be on constantly now. Keyless go packed it in a while ago, now it is the central locking that has issues. Any idea if it's definitely just the battery, or could it be something more serious like a dodgy receiver in the car?

In my case, it definitely was just the key fob battery. I'd still head to the workshop, though, to get the error codes properly read out. If it's just the battery, they can replace it and clear the errors for you, but if it's something else, at least you'll know what you're dealing with.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the local independent Volvo specialist, and you were spot on. It was just the key fob battery. 37€ later and everything is back to normal. Cheers!

Sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same gremlins with my S80. Was the low battery warning constantly on, or just popping up occasionally? Keyless go is the first to go, then you'll experience issues with the central locking.
