S80 Lean Running Jerking
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Volvo S80 with a diesel engine is experiencing lean running, reduced engine power, a check engine light, rough running, and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion is on the fuel injectors. A similar issue was resolved by addressing the injection valve/injector, which restored the vehicle's performance. It is suggested to have the air-fuel ratio checked and possibly visit a workshop for a thorough diagnosis.

Spark plugs on a diesel? I'm skeptical. Air-fuel ratio, yeah I thought about that, I might need to find someone with the right equipment to make the measurements. I was hoping to maybe avoid that for now. What exactly was it with your S80?

Okay, spark plugs are not the culprit in your case, excuse my ignorance. I wasn't thinking. If the air-fuel ratio is not optimal I would just recommend going to the workshop.

Thanks for the input. Seems like getting it checked out is the best bet. It was the injection valve/injector. Cost me 515€ to fix it, but runs like new now.

I had a similar lean running issue with my S80. Has the air-fuel ratio been looked at? When my check engine light came on, the spark plugs were blamed. Maybe check the state of your intake manifold?
