S80 Power Windows Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Volvo S80 experienced a complete failure of its power windows, with an error stored in the system's memory. The suspected cause was a defective power window switch. After checking the fuses and confirming they were fine, it was suggested to have the switch inspected by a mechanic. The diagnosis confirmed the switch was faulty, and it was replaced at a workshop.

Thanks! Good point about the fuses, I did check them and they seem fine. Is the power window switch hard to replace? How did you figure out it was the switch and not something else?

No problem. It wasn't too difficult, but I wasn't comfortable doing it myself. Symptoms were the same as yours, and a mechanic confirmed the switch was defective. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop.

Appreciate the insight. Sounds like the workshop is the way to go. Diagnosis confirmed: faulty power window switch. Cost me 200€ to replace. Thanks!

Hey, I had something similar happen in my S80. Check the power window switch. It's a common point of failure. Did you check the fuses?
