S80 System Readiness Check Incomplete
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Volvo S80 diesel displayed a "system readiness check incomplete" message after a vehicle inspection and OBD2 diagnostics. The issue was likely due to the OBD2 system needing a reset, similar to a computer reboot. The problem was resolved by clearing the error memory and performing a standardized drive cycle, completing the system readiness check without further action needed.

Vehicle inspection and car diagnostics were indeed performed prior to this. Yes, the car still drives okay. What did you do about it?

Sounds identical. My mechanic said the OBD2 system sometimes does that. He said it's like a computer needing a reboot after a software installation. They reset the system readiness. Best to go to a workshop, they'll sort it.

Thanks! I cleared the error memory and performed a standardized drive cycle. The system readiness check is now complete. Issue resolved, and no further action was needed.

I had a similar issue on my S80. Was it after a vehicle inspection? I had the emissions test done and then got the same error. Does it still drive okay?
