S90 Blower Motor Failure

Alright Volvo gurus, I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2019 S90 diesel is throwing a hissy fit. The blower motor is completely dead. I've scanned it with my OBD tool, and it's showing an AUC sensor fault. I did some digging and found out it's the odor sensor, or air conditioning sensor, whatever you wanna call it. I've checked the obvious stuff, like fuses, but no luck. The car has 246859 km on the clock. Could a dodgy HVAC sensor really kill the whole blower? I suspect a bad cable or plug connection. Any ideas before I start tearing the dash apart?

Summary of the thread

The 2019 Volvo S90's blower motor is not functioning, and an OBD scan revealed an AUC sensor fault, which is related to the odor or air conditioning sensor. Despite checking fuses, the blower remains inactive. A similar issue was resolved by addressing a faulty connection on the odor sensor, which had completely disabled the blower. It is advised to have a professional diagnose and repair the issue to avoid further complications, with a repair cost quoted at 95€.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my S90's climate control a while back. The blower was acting up, and the dealer pointed to a sensor issue. Is your AC working at all? Any weird smells coming through the vents?

The AC isn't working, completely dead. And no weird smells, just… nothing. Everything was fine one day, and then poof, no blower. What sensor was it on your S90? And did it completely shut down the blower, or was it intermittent?

Yeah, sounds exactly like what happened to mine. It was the odor sensor, if I remember correctly. It completely killed the blower. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it too much yourself. These modern Volvos are so interconnected, you could end up making things worse. I'd take it to a trusted shop and have them diagnose it properly.

Cheers. I appreciate the insight. I was hoping to avoid the shop, but you're probably right. It's booked in for next week. The mechanic confirmed what you said, faulty connection on the odor sensor. They quoted me 95€ for the repair, so not too bad. Thanks again!
